Windsor Guildhall Wedding – Helen & Justin

Helen and Justin got married last Christmas Eve, with their wedding ceremony taking place at Windsor Guildhall and the reception at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa, also in Windsor.

This wedding day started with some getting-ready photos. Bride and groom were not far from each other, so I managed to get “getting-ready” photos of both. I really enjoy photographing this part of the wedding day. There is a tension in the air and so many important details that will be remembered in the years to come.

After the “getting-ready”, I headed over to Windsor Guildhall for the wedding ceremony. It’s a beautiful building, famous for several important weddings such as Prince Charles and Camilla, and Elton John’s civil partnership. It was a wonderfully intimate wedding ceremony and the wedding music came from a talented harpist and at the end the couple were saluted by a fantastic bagpiper.

The reception took place at the elegant Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa which is close to the River Thames. The hotel had beautiful Christmas decorations and the reception room was amazingly decorated to welcome the newly-weds and their guests.

It was one of the shortest days of the year, with very little natural light available. I am a big fan of natural light, but I always bring some flashes for days like these. The result was that we had some amazing light!

The couple opted to have only a small number of guests – just close friends and family… and I felt so privileged to be a part of that intimate gathering. I wish them a happy marriage and a long life together!
