FAQ
How can I book you?
First, check my availability by email, the contact form, or call or text me on 07460 738617 .
If you like, we can arrange a meeting or even a Skype call to discuss your wedding requirements, at no extra charge. If you then decide to book me, I’ll send you the contract, and once I receive back from you a signed copy and the deposit, your date is then fully reserved.
Do you charge for travel?
I don’t change for travel costs inside the London area / M25.
Travel costs are applied when travelling outside the M25. I cover weddings throughout UK, Europe and all over the world.
Do you do destination weddings?
Yes, I love a destination wedding! I’ve shot in several different countries such as Greece, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Ireland, Denmark and France. I have all the expertise needed to shoot an international wedding. You don’t need to worry about booking hotels, flights or transport for me: just relax and enjoy the amazing photos from your big day, wherever in the world you decide to have it. Just get in touch and let me know your plans!
Where and when will the pre-wedding/engagement shoot take place?
Pre-wedding / engagement shoots can take place anywhere you would like. The location can be a park, a general area like Notting Hill, or at a place that holds some special meaning for you. We can also arrange a session in a studio, for an additional fee. I can do a pre-wedding / engagement shoot on any day of the week you like, even at weekends.
What’s your style?
I go for a documentary / photojournalism style for the majority of the wedding. I don’t interfere during the wedding and capture the whole event just as it is.
For the couple portraits, some clients prefer a more editorial approach. My extensive knowledge of natural light, flash and poses comes in handy to achieve magazine-quality images.
Do you edit the photos and videos?
Yes, I do. Every image I deliver is post-processed using Photoshop, which is a time consuming service that not every photographer offers. This process includes exposure adjustment, luminosity masks, black and white conversions, tone mapping, clarity adjustments, sharpening, colour correction and many other adjustments. This means that my clients can be sure that they’ll receive only the highest quality imagery.
Do we need to pose for the pictures?
No, you don’t need to pose during your wedding and I will never ask you for posed photos (unless we have agreed them before). But of course, you can be sure that in any formal photos with your guests and couple portraits that you want, I will quickly let you know if something isn’t quite right, or what to do with your hands, for example. I might also suggest some little thing you can do to make the shot candid or funny.
During the couple portraits, I will normally suggest a more secluded place (if possible), where you and your partner can just relax and have some special moments together. At this stage, I might suggest some simple natural actions for photos, such as walking while holding hands or chatting to each other. These photos usually take around 10 to 15 minutes, although I also love it if a couple wants to spend even longer!
In addition, if you prefer an editorial style shoot for your wedding or engagement session, I have the expertise to shoot fashion magazine-quality images. It’s up to you 🙂
How many photos will you provide us with?
For an 8-hour wedding, I estimate around 350 to 550 superb images. Obviously, the number can vary depending on the schedule and location.
How can my family and friends see the photos online?
An online password-protected gallery will be provided for you. If you share the link and the password with your family and friends, they’ll be able to see the images and download them.
Do you blog all your weddings and engagement sessions?
I would love to, but due to the time it takes to organise and create a blog post, it’s not possible to blog all weddings and engagements. But all my clients get all their images on an password-protected online-gallery that can be shared with family and friends.
My wedding is in about two years, can I book you now?
Some dates get booked much faster than others, so it’s always best to secure your date as early as possible. I take bookings up to 2 years in advance. In addition, I can also be booked just a few days before the wedding if the date is available.
Is there any part of the day you don’t photograph?
People usually don’t look good when they are eating, most people don’t even like to be photographed while eating, so I avoid take pictures of people eating (but I do take photos of the dishes)
What happens if it rains?
Don’t worry about me or my equipment… I am happy to get a little wet and all my equipment is waterproof.
I always carry an umbrella for photos on rainy days, for you and your partner. Rain is not an excuse for not getting amazing photos!
For engagement sessions, I will do my best to reschedule your photo shoot to another day which suits us both if the weather forecast is bad 🙂
What equipment do you use?
I use professional Nikon DSLR ans Sony mirrorless cameras. Currently I am using two Nikon D750 bodies and Sony A7s series, with several top-of-the-range professional lenses. I also use discreet flash equipment and small lighting modifiers. In addition, I always carry a backup camera and lenses, and therefore no equipment failure will delay your wedding or prevent me from taking amazing pictures.
Will you have a backup of the photos?
My cameras have 2 memory card slots and they are configured to save the photos onto both cards, so all your photos will be backed up in case a memory card gets damaged or lost . After the wedding, your photos will be stored for at least one year in two different places, as well as in the Cloud.
Can you take photos of both me and my partner before the wedding?
I can usually visit both you and your partner before the ceremony if you are near each other, otherwise a second shooter will be required. The second shooter can also stay to shoot during the wedding, if you wish. The second shooter can add new angles and capture details and expressions that might not be possible with only one photographer. For big weddings, I recommend hiring a second shooter and this is something I can arrange without hassle.
When will you release our wedding photos?
I’ll send you the link for the online gallery within 3 weeks of the big day.
How do you create an album?
I will create an initial design of the album after you have selected the images. This can all be done online. Then I’ll send you the initial version of the album for your approval. Once you have approved the album, I’ll send it off to be printed. This whole process usually takes about 1 to 2 months.
Are you insured?
Yes, I am fully insured. I also require my second shooters to have professional equipment and public liability insurance.
Can other guests have cameras at the wedding?
Yes, of course! Who doesn’t like a selfie with the newlyweds? 🙂
However, you may want to consider having a camera/mobile-free ceremony so that all the guests truly enjoy your wedding. We’ve all seen guests with cameras ruining photos by jumping in front of the photographer.
During formal group photos, I also suggest keeping mobiles and cameras out of sight, because people may look at their cameras instead of the photographer’s. What you want to avoid is half of the group looking at one camera and the other half at another.
